UK minister aims to reassure photographers
The UK Policing and Crime Minister has reasserted that anti-terrorism should not be used to stop photographers and photojournalists. In a meeting with a Parliamentary photography group and journalists, David Hanson MP said the Sections 44 and 58A of the 2000 Terrorist Act should not be ‘used to stop ordinary people taking photos or to curtail legitimate journalistic activity’. He also said guidance to that effect has been provided to the UK police forces, advising that these powers should not be used to stop innocent members of the public, tourists and journalists.

Hey everybody,
after lurking for some time on this great community forum I took my upcoming trip to New York as an excuse to finally sign up. I’d like to join you in posting pictures and discussing the art of street photography!
As I mentioned, I will be in New York from this Friday on (19th) for 7 days. Does anybody have any photo related activities or exhibitions he/she can recommend?
Thanks very much!

Sounds like an adventure. Already planning your route, or are you looking on input from where us members are located?

I’m currently located in Duluth, MN. Not as big and exciting as Minneapolis, but I still manage to make due here. A good Robert Frank style road trip wouldn’t just stick to metro areas would it?

I’m in Pittsburgh, in my opinion an interesting place to shoot. And I might be interested in some of your EOS gear. Do you have a price list?

I smell a rat – I have not seen used M8s for less than $2,500… M8.2s not less than $3,500 and the white one goes for at least 7k

Oh yes Markus, totally. I e-mailed the Sydney one just out of curiosity saying that it seemed remarkably cheap. A “woman” replied to me saying she had divorced her husband and moved back to London. She said she was selling it cheap to annoy the man and would send him the receipt to further irritate him!
Needless to say, staying well away from that one
